At the Institution for Savings, the basis of every customer relationship, many of which span generations, is trust. As banking professionals, we are entrusted with private, sensitive information, and we believe that your privacy cannot be compromised. By establishing the following Privacy Principles, we acknowledge our responsibility to make certain that your privacy is protected, and that the information that we possess is maintained in confidence.
1. The Institution for Savings collects, uses, and maintains information about its customers in order to properly administer its banking services. Upon your request, we will tell you why we are collecting specific information. We use information to protect and administer your records, accounts, and funds, as well as to comply with certain laws and regulations.
2. The Institution for Savings has developed practices and procedures to ensure that its customers’ financial information is accurate, current, and complete in keeping with reasonable banking standards. Should you believe that our records contain inaccurate information about you, please notify us. We will research your concerns in a timely manner, and correct any inaccuracies.
3. At the Institution for Savings, employee access to personally identifiable information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information. Moreover, each of our employees is required to adhere to a Code of Ethics Policy that includes these Privacy Principles. We will take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
4. The Institution for Savings safeguards information according to established security standards and procedures. This includes the use of passwords and other access codes to prevent revealing customer information to unauthorized individuals or organization.
5. The Institution for Savings does not reveal specific information about your accounts, or other personally identifiable data, with third parties, whether affiliated or unaffiliated with the Bank, unless: 1) you request or authorize it; 2) the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you; 3) the information is provided to a reputable credit reporting agency; or 4) the disclosure is required by or allowed by law (for example, subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by a governmental regulatory agency, etc.).
6. When we conduct business with third parties, we require our vendors and suppliers to maintain standards similar to our own regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.
7. The Institution for Savings values the relationships we have with our customers.
