Institution for Savings
Charitable Foundations

In December of 2005, Ipswich Co-operative Bank established the 2 Depot Square Ipswich Charitable Foundation with an initial contribution of $200,000. Charitable giving has been a cornerstone of the Bank's business philosophy for many years. The Foundation will play a vital role in supporting economic development and improving the quality of life in the communities that we serve. The establishment of the Foundation will guarantee charitable funds to local organizations for future generations to come.

The Foundation will focus its giving in the following areas:

Economic and Community Empowerment: This includes programs which focus on the promotion and development of access to safe and affordable housing, and programs which support community revitalization efforts.

Youth Development: Initiatives that encourage our youth through social, educational, athletic or cultural programs.

Arts & Culture: Programs and organizations which provide art and cultural programs that enrich our communities.

Health and Human Services: Organizations which strive to enhance the health and well-being of children and families in our communities.

Through the Grant Committee, the Foundation awards funds to non-profit organizations based in Ipswich and the surrounding communities. Applications for grants will only be accepted from qualified 501(c)3 or 501(c)1 organizations.

The Grant Committee meets in April and November. Completed applications are due April 1st and November 1st.
