Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation

NOTE: The Institution for Savings recently consolidated its three charitable foundations (Institution for Savings, 2 Depot Square Ipswich and Main Street Rockport) into
one Foundation.

The vision of the Institution for Savings is to positively affect the lives of every person, business and organization within the communities it serves. As a mutual savings institution, the Bank has always believed in dedicating part of its assets toward making the greater Newburyport area a better place to live and work. The Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation, established in 1997, provides a vehicle to share the Bank's success with the communities that are responsible for that success.
Through its Grant Committee, the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation awards funds to organizations in Amesbury, Beverly, Boxford, Byfield, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Ipswich, Middleton, Newburyport, Newbury, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury and the surrounding communities designated as charities under IRS section 501 (c) (3).
The Grant Committee meets on the third Monday of March, June, September, and December.
Application deadlines are the first Friday in March, June, September, and December.
The Foundation focuses its giving in the following areas:

Economic and Community Empowerment

This includes programs which focus on the promotion and development of access to safe and affordable housing, and environmental programs which support community revitalization efforts.

Youth Development

This includes initiatives that support youth through social, public education, athletic or cultural programs.

Arts & Culture
