Main Street Rockport Charitable Foundation
The vision of the Institution for Savings is to positively affect the lives of every person, business and organization within the communities it serves. As a mutual savings bank, the Bank has always believed in dedicating part of its assets toward making our communities better places in which to live and work. The Main Street Rockport Charitable Foundation was established in 2014 when the Institution for Savings merged with Rockport National Bank as a way to guarantee future generations the charitable giving that has been the Bank's hallmark since 1820.
The Main Street Rockport Charitable Foundation provides a vehicle to share the Bank's success with the community that is responsible for that success. Through its Grants Committee, the Main Street Rockport Charitable Foundation awards funds to organizations in Cape Ann, Beverly, and the surrounding communities designated as charities under IRS section 501 (c) (3).
The Foundation focuses its giving in the following areas:
Economic and Community Empowerment
This includes programs which focus on the promotion and development of access to safe and affordable housing, and environmental programs which support community revitalization efforts.
This includes initiatives that support youth through social, public education, athletic or cultural programs.
Arts & Culture
This includes programs and organizations that provide art and cultural programs that enrich our communities.
Health and Human Services
This includes programs and organizations that strive to enhance the health and well-being of children, families, and senior citizens in our communities.
The Grant Committee meets in June and December of each year. Completed applications are due November 15th and May 15th.
